Second edition of the French translation by J. Dusaulx and expanded notes and preceded by historical notes on the life of Juvenal and that of Dusaulx.
Binders half morocco with long grain pine green with corners, back with four nerves set with double nets gilded ornate triple gold boxes, marbled paper plates, guards and contreplats of handmade paper, gilded head, elegant slightly later binding and not signed but due to Niédrée.
Our copy is exceptionally enriched over 90 engravings including 3 portraits of Juvenal and vignettes and portraits.
Provenance: Library of Leon Rattier with his bookplate pasted on the white guards.
