Binders in half brown percaline, back slightly thinned with five nerves adorned with gilded floral motifs, marbled paper plates, guards and contreplats of handmade paper, speckled edges, bindings of the time.
some slightly dull corners.
Illustrated book of 74 plates inset of which 67 hand-colored.
Our series (incomplete of the seventh and last volume: "Methodical Catalog") is composed as follows:
Volume 1: Rhopaloceres with in-fine a board in black and 18 colored by hand.
Volume 2: Heterocera with in-fine a board in black and 15 colored by hand.
Volume 3: Hétérocères noctuae, first part with a board in black and 5 colored by hand.
Volume 4: Heterocera noctuae last part with in-fine 8 hand-colored boards.
Volume 5: Heterocera geometridae with in-fine a board in black and 14 hand-colored.
Volume 6: Deltoid Heterocera, Pyralites with in-fine plank in black and 9 hand-colored.
Rare foxing, otherwise nice together.
