Edition illustrated by Tony Johannot, a frontispiece, an engraved title and 800 vignettes engraved on wood (header, headbands, cul-de-lamp). Notice by Sainte Beuve. First printing.
Posterior romantic glossy calf binding signed at the top of the first leaflet: G. Solignac-Mazet, pale red. Smooth back decorated with 2 irons in length, golden title, series of nets in tail and head. Superb copy.
Exemplary of exceptional freshness, with very white paper, except a few tens of sheets in the 2 volumes uniformly tinted.
