First illustrated edition of 2 color frontispieces and 38 boards on applied China including a facsimile in chromolithography. Typographic ornaments.
Publisher's binding in full black morocco signed Boutigny tail. Smooth back decorated with a rich Rocaille decoration. Plates struck with a large cold plate with Rocailles motifs, birds and 2 cherubs mounted on griffins, wide fat fillet of golden frame. Golden tracnhes. Friction at the bottom of the upper plate of Volume 2, as well as on some parts of the bits sometimes chipped. A slightly dated leaflet in Volume 1, 2 in Volume 2.
Beautiful copy in its rich publisher binding of Boutigny.
