First illustrated edition of 59 drawings by L. Bennet and P. Phillippoteaux, 35 facsimiles of old engravings, 20 maps or plans. A double volume, catalog S.
Editor cardboard in percaline brick said to The Ptolemaic sphere (one of the most harmonious success among the cartonnage of Souze). Special plate composed by Souze. Beautiful first plate, with very bright golds. small brown spot at the right corner. External border darkened on 8 cm. Rubbed corners.
Back well, with clean gold, but caps sagging, with small snags and slight lack of percaline. Bit a bit rubbed.
Second flat of type B, with rosette, palmettes of angle, a little darkened. Brown Guards features the first edition.
p.301 with external margin tear on 3cm, and a folded corner. Clean paper with a few pale foxing.
Nice copy overall.

This volume is the first published triptych: The great trips and frequent travelers ; it relates to voyages and discoveries by land.
