Steamer Edition in red sticker (single volume), illustrated with 48 drawings by Benett, 40 for the first title and 5 for the second. Catalog in fine.
Editor Binding signed Charles Magnier. Souze signed plate. Percaline soft caps. First frâiche plate but scraped area under the lighthouse. 2 small black spots corner. Cut top and frayed cap. A small lack of percaline tail. Whitish spots around the badge on the second flat. Corners bumped.
The first illustrated edition was published in 1879 in a carton with the original. Two heirs share 500 million, a French and a German. Each will build a city to the extent of his dreams, the French hygienist city, German, a steel town.
