Second edition of the French translation by J. Dusaulx increased notes and preceded by historical notes on the life of Juvenal and that of Dusaulx.
Binding to bradel half morocco bordeaux corners, smooth back, date, name and location golden tail back, double black lines framing of marbled paper boards, first board slightly and partially bleached head, guards and contreplats paper to the tank, golden heads, couveture preserved, elegant binding signed by Dupré.
Our copy is exceptionally enriched over 90 engravings including 3 portraits of Juvenal and vignettes and portraits.
Provenance: Library of Leon Rattier with his bookplate pasted on the white guards.
Annotation of a bibliophile head of a guard of the first volume, a few minor foxing.
Pleasant copy beautifully set in a charming quasi Contemporary binding.
