Contemporary binding in full blue morocco, back with five false nerves ornate boxes, jewels, gold and dotted nets, five threads and golden jewels framing the boards, green morocco contreplats lined boxes of twelve golden nets and punches Cold, net gilded on the cuts, all edges gilt. Binding signed Charles Ottmann, bookbinder origin of Strasbourg who had married the daughter of a bookbinder Duplanil son and practiced in Paris from 1835 to 1857 approximately.
Three corners lightly bumped, otherwise fine copy.
Library Vandérem Fernand (1864-1939), with his bookplate (1939, No. 362).
Engraved armorial bookplate of Busquet library reported; HP Small monogrammed stamp in red ink.
Light foxing on title and a few slips.
