Back tooled raised. Part of title in red morocco. a blunt, bare corner. Friction. Marie-Jeanne Riccoboni (1713-1792), was, after a mediocre actress by necessity, much appreciated novelist of his time, so much so that his peers refused to acknowledge that the author was a woman.
