First Edition. Rare. Full speckled calf time. Back tooled raised. Torn off caps. Wetting marginal pale on the first 50 pages. Our copy is missing the sheet A1 which is a subtitle, there is no lack of text (see table of contents). Gabriel Gilbert (1610-1680) was first considered as précuseur Racine given its dramatic production. Before becoming secretary to Queen Christina of Sweden, he was the Duchesse de Rohan.
