Stefan ZWEIG

Lettre autographe signée de deux pages à propos du travail de traduction en allemand des oeuvres de Paul Verlaine qu'il dirige

Berlin s.d. ( circa 1904), 16,5x22,5cm, une feuille.

Letter autograph signed two pages addressed to the director of the literary magazine "The Plume", Karl Boes, and written from Berlin where Stefan Zweig undertakes a work of German translation of the works of Paul Verlaine.
In this letter, Stefan Zweig shows his enthusiasm to share his passion for Paul Verlaine that he helped to discover in Germany: "I managed to find a publisher and also the most modern publisher in Germany who wants dare to sell a translation of Paul Verlaine's poems ... " thanks to the collective effort of several German writers that he has organized and supervised :" ... the translation, which I direct, will be the best possible, parsqu ' it is the work of only one, all the great lyricists of Germany and their best too ... have collaborated to make this work worthy of the great poet ... "; company he predicts commercial success : "... we can hope that, thanks to the notation of translators and the modest price, Verlaine may be more bought in Germany than in France."
