First edition, illustrated with a frontispiece Marillier, engraved by De Veau launay.Plein blond glossy granite. Smooth back features 5 jewels compartmentalized roulette tail and head. Part of title in red morocco. Slices cailloutées blue. Wetting a high margin on a 4 cm wide (end of the book, the paper becomes brittle at this point). Two snags in tail. Good copy in ensemble.Cette comedy is a satirical load at the point of doing all the learned school in the world of letters, writers and philosophers. In the preface established a portrait of Voltaire, although this is never mentioned by Dorat.
