Second edition by the same publisher as the first, which appeared only in 1000 copies, in deluxe edition. This new edition, according to the wishes of the author, was more accessible. It is illustrated with 365 compositions in lithography & intaglio, in colors and shades, including 37 planks full-page inset in color under snakes, 15 intaglio prints and 22 lithographs. Numerous monochrome vignettes in the text and ornate letters. Publishing and printing are particularly neat.
Bindings half morocco burgundy vintage corner, the arms of College Stanislas in Paris on the boards. Back with nerves adorned with irons bunch of grapes framed foliage. Nets on the boards.
