This edition should not be confused with that of the garden of plants published by Curmer on the same date. illustrated book with 110 figures on wood in text and 50 pl. ht including a foldout and 4 birds colored after Traviès.
Binding in golden publisher cardboard. Full black embossed percaline. Large decor on the smooth back with giraffe, monkey and birds. Large golden plate on the upper dish with portraits of Buffon and Cuvier and animals (lion, crocodile); cold framing. A lion lying on the lower dish. Finely crossed percaline. Golden slices. Catering at the top and at the top.
