First edition, very rare, it is often confused with the reissue at the same editor of 1860. A large folding map of North West Africa with fishing stations and projected fisheries.
Binding half shagreen black grained contemporary. Cold coffered back and gilded nets. Part of the headdress torn off. Slight traces of friction. Very fresh set printed on beautiful paper with some rare foxinges. Cut at the right corner of the subtitle and title page, without affecting the text. Good copy.
Study on fishing in West Africa, with fish migrations, species, type of fishing in Africa, drylands, fishing economy.
