Highly elegant contemporary Romantic binding in half long-grain blue morocco over marbled paper boards, spine in five compartments with delicate raised bands and gilt garlands and fleurons, gilt friezes at head and foot of spine, light insignificant scuffing to foot of joints, gilt fillet frame to covers, marbled endpapers and pastedowns.
Retaining its frontispiece portrait of Louis-Gabriel Suchet to first volume, as well as the two folding maps at the end of volume two.
A good copy with practically no foxing in a charming contemporary Romantic binding.
