The original translation dates from 1547, with Etienne Groulleau in Paris. The privilege, however, is well 1555. Rare. A single copy in Cambridge (Absent the BN France and the British Library and in French catalogs). Many initials, title page in an engraved frame (interlaced Renaissance). Brunet V, 1498 Full Calf brown, smooth back decorated with medallions in which are suns or flowers. Dishes with a medallion in the center consists of a laurel wreath within which is a sun, with double net coaching in the spandrels of St. Jacques shells. Restored example of spine and jaw corners and a portion of the top plate. 1 iron shell Saint Jacques redone. Hardcover despite its restoration by evoking his irons an illustrious unidentified. Angular lack filled in title page. Sheet lined guard. Title page browned in right margin. Wetting at the right margin to page 60 in fading up and wetness on the pages to p. 3. p 81-140, gallery to the corner of the lower right margin. P 197 to end, wetting at the right margin going to be accentuated. The privilege has been restored, filling marginal gaps. Page very stained. The first Latin edition of Cyropaedia, the famous treatise on education princes who tells the story of Cyrus king of Persia, was printed in Rome in 1474, the first French translation of it dates from 1529, clause Seyssel in Paris. The first edition of Etienne and is later date 1561 This translation was commissioned to Ventimiglia by Jacques Henri II (and others later), in fact it was a translator and a highly esteemed scholar François I and Henri II who cared to have a library of ancient writers finally brought further Henry II was the most famous book collectors.
