First edition

Saint THOMAS D'AQUIN Summa theologiae

Saint THOMAS D'AQUIN

Summa theologiae

Sumptibus Antonii Pillehotte, Lugduni (Lyon) 1624 - 1623, 6 tomes en 6 Vol. fort in-8 (11x18cm), relié.

First edition, rare. As an allegorical frontispiece unsigned. First title page in red and black. A complete copy found in the catalog of the city of Lyon, nothing in the National Library or the British Library, nor in the English catalogs. Full Velin rigid period flaps. Smooth spine with title in an elegant pen. Traces of laces. Various small tasks on back. A trace of pale wetness through the first volume, half-page, very discreet. Light also wetness on the first 160 pages of the second volume. Lack the cover page at the end of Volume II; early in the third volume. Overall, nice copy, bound uniformly Velin time like Dutch binding. The work is divided as follows: I. Prima pars. 1624 - II. Primae secundae parties. 1624 - III. Secundae secundae parties ... cui accessere Schemata D. Augustini Hunnaei ... ejusdemque of sacramentis axiomata, necnon ... brevissimus Catechismus catholicus ... 1 Tab. Displ. 1624 - IV. Tertia pars ... 1623 - V. Supplementum ad tertiam partem, quam S. Thomas, died praeventus, naquivit perficere ex ejusdem S. Thomae scripto in quartum lib. Sententiarum excerptum ... 1623 - VI. Novi 1624 Quinque clues ... The completion of this edition is undoubtedly due in part to Augustin Huens (Hunnaeus Mechelen 1522-1577, philosopher and theologian at the University of Louvain), which we find the work: of sacramentis Ecclesiae Christi axiomata quibus beati (Catholic Catechism ... 1566), in the third volume; we also know that he gave himself an edition of the Summa Theologica, and Pillehotte should pursue it. The completion of this edition is the work of Julius Roscius Hortinus the preface, dominiquain brother as himself was St. Thomas; this scholar and researcher conducted several theological books and studies, including the Roman. Buffer C. Abbot Bellangier.
