Criticism of a passion harming books, the following passage summarizes the project of this pamphlet: "Indeed, have collections of books with the inability or lack of desire to read & study, it is a strange mania a blind ostentation. Piling heaps of volumes unnecessarily without discernment is an absurd futility, vain superfluity. Gather all those considered by their rarity, by the singular beauty of the editions, the magnificence of bindings is an excess of luxury, an inordinate love of the marvelous, ruinous prodigality. " In short, a book against mania, against the blind passion, and a true love of books, literature and knowledge.
