First Edition. Various annotations of the time, the pen, the guards and contreplats. Gauret signature on each volume.
Full brown sheepskin time. Back with five nerves boxes decorated with jewels and gold. Gold wheels on the cuts. All slices speckled red. Caps frayed, corners bumped. Some foxing. A banner with the arms of Le Camus was probably cut the top of the letter, causing a lack of text on the back of the slip.
Two volumes with different titles, the first relates to civil matters, the second criminal matters, which are all published by the Universal Stile Gauret. "Stile" means the procedure in court. Written immediately after the orders of Colbert and most famous treaty process, this book is an outstanding witness to the justice of the Ancien Regime, procedures and convictions.
