pseudonymic work whose main character is called Snob. So these are the confessions or memories of a snob. The Book of Snobs has largely contributed to give the word snob the meaning it has today and to clarify the concept; the publication of the work establishing, according to the historian of ideas Frédéric Rouvillois, "the baptismal act of snobbery".
