Binders half shagreen straw, back with five nerves set with black fillets decorated with double black boxes to the centers where the golden initials of great bibliophile Roger Cormenin is repeated four times, parts of title and volume number morocco navy blue, light scratches minor heads of the joints, marbled paper plates, guards and contreplats of handmade paper, gilded heads, slightly posterior bindings.
Illustrated work of two portraits of Prosper Mérimée by A. Leveille in frontispieces volumes.
Provenance: the library Cormenin Roger, son of Louis de Cormenin who was the confidant and secretary of Théophile Gautier and also a close friend of Gustave Flaubert.
