Bound in half navy shagreen, back on four bands set with black threads and having a hitch (probably a scratch volume number), marbled paper plates, guards and contreplats of handmade paper, marbled sections, contemporary binding.
Signed autograph from the author to his lawyer Leon Duval, who brought his help at the time of publication of his works in collective Perrotin ". Monsieur Leon Duval / memories and thanks / George Sand"
Our copy is enriched with an autograph letter of the author, mounted on tab, and addressed to the same as follows: "I would not have dared to offer you, sir, a hodgepodge of stories of my own, and I found that c 'was very annoyed that you have enough to tell you my trial without coming even knock you out of my works. But you have had the promise of express desire, and I hasten to send you the beginning of edition which was the subject of my trial. Receive my thanks for the assistance that you have to give me, and believe me that the memory will always be precious. Your George Sand. September 1842 "
