illustrated collective Edition (and only edition of this title) by George Roux 12 chromotypographies, off-black text and photographs of Algeria (some in color).
Cardboard with an elephant in the range as vermilion. Back to the lighthouse. Second course with supervision palmettos and central macaroon. Very nice top plate, flawless, gleaming with gold. Second course very well, but with some dark areas of dirt. Although in good condition, the back shows a lack of color of the blue sky in the cap and gold losses in the buoy down. higher cap falling back slightly. Copy totally free of foxing, perfectly fresh.
Despite some flaws, very nice copy.
The invasion of the sea, is the last novel that Jules Verne could proofread and is happening in Tunisia and Algeria: project of a canal that would flood part of the Sahara. As for the Phare side of the world, Jules Verne did not just proofread and it is his son Michael who brought a number of changes to the original text. The action takes place in South America, east of the land of fire, where the Pacific and Atlantic oceans meet. We see wreckers that are reminiscent of Stevenson's novel of the same name. Both novels were published for the first time both in 1905.
