First edition, one of 120 numbered copies on pur fil Lafuma, only grand papier (deluxe) copies.
Endpapers very slightly and marginally shaded.
A fine copy as issued, very rare and much sought-after.
Our copy is housed in a black decorated custom clamshell case, square spine with the author's name and titled in red and white, front panel in the style of pulp novel covers, with a photographic portrait of Boris Vian with a mirror and wine bottle in the background, title cartouche in red, white and black inspired by the cover of the American edition, the second panel features another photographic portrait of Boris Vian, this time with a cream-colored quote "le temps n'est pas encore venu où la justice régnera sur cette terre pour les hommes noirs" ("the time has not yet come when justice for black men reigns on this earth"), superb work by artist Julie Nadot.
