First edition

First edition, illustrated with 424 inset (and more than 700 figures) monuments, costumes, historical scenes, cards ...
Binding half glazed calf vintage navy, signed Langlois tail. Back smooth decorated with romantic irons long, broad tail wheel. Scuff head of Volume 3, use light rubbing. Very fresh copy white paper to the bin without freckles. Beautiful series, very elegant. It is rare to encounter copies of this edition well connected and in good condition.
If this story of France remains interesting to read (she is full of curious anecdotes and learnings, and Hugo was a clever compiler), it is much more interesting from a geographical point of view (human and physical) and gives a fair view of France in 1834, with many statistics. The book has a particularly rich iconography, including all the monuments of France, even those missing as Richelieu Castle.
