Edition illustrated by Robida First printing of 49 plates inset (8 in color, 35 in monochrome and 6 in black), and many illustrations in the text (about 600).
Carton illustrated polychrome publisher signed Souze and connected by Engel. Gold and blue special plate on a red background. spine idem. second board with a half-timbered house in a central medallion and angular cold irons.
Plate of the first volume very well, that of the second with a stain of 1cm of diameter, and stains in the high part of the black border. Blunt corners, others rubbed. A hitch on the back of the first volume. Headdresses rubbed, head bent. Dirt on the second boardes. Scattered foxing and unevenly distributed. Leaflets out.
Despite defects, beautiful copy in all of this rare cardboard.
Masterpiece of illustrator Robida, a real imaginative, baroque and truculent profusion.
