Second illustrated edition. It has a new edition with substantial modifications in the text and engravings. The 6 polychrome insets are drawn in dominant, blue, greenish, pale. The later edition with the red badge will contain only 3 polychrome on the 6. 52 illustrations by Benett.
Publisher cardboard says "Acanthus leaves", macaroons with a golden background. Good first plate, with slight discolourations on the outer edge. Back with small gaps of percaline, like pellets, on the title piece, tail and cap. second board quite good but with 2 areas as scraped. Coins slightly rubbed. Quite good copy, generally fresh, with pale russet halos in title page and in the margins of some leaflets.
