First illustrated collective edition of 51 drawings by Benett. BR catalog in fine, in preparation for the year 1884.
Red-orange editor cardboard says "Two elephants". Cold macaron on the second board, black background with red letters. Very nice first plate, ditto for the back. Some stains on the second board. Low right corner with a slight crease. Paper of a very beautiful freshness. Very nice copy, well preserved.
Robinsonade in which the Hero becomes a shipwrecked on a desert island to New Zealand. Jules verne will be inspired by the Swiss Robinsons of Wyss. The Green Ray is a sentimental novel where the young heroine, in order to escape a marriage against her nature, asserts that she will marry when she sees the green ray, an optical phenomenon that the protagonists of the story seek in Scotland.
