Marguerite DURAS (à Maurice BEJART) Remerciements autographes à Maurice Béjart

Marguerite DURAS (à Maurice BEJART)

Remerciements autographes à Maurice Béjart

janvier 1970, 13,5x21cm, une feuille.

Thanks signed by Marguerite Duras to the choreographer Maurice Béjart, concerning a national popular theatre brochure, dating from winter 1969-1970. She addresses the warm thanks: "Béjart, vous avez ouvert un continent de danse. Fabuleux merci” “Béjart you have opened a dance continent. Spectacular thanks.”

In January 1970, Maurice Béjart had brought the ballets “A la recherche de...,” “Ni fleurs ni couronnes,” “Le voyage,” and “Messe pour le temps présent,” to the heights of the national popular theatre - today the Théâtre du Palais de Chaillot. Marguerite Duras addresses her thanks to him regarding a prospectus of national theatre, in which she stands alongside Béjart for her play Amante anglaise, which premiered in November of the previous year.
Beautiful, very visual, handwritten piece.

Provenance: Maurice Béjart's personal archives.
