Autograph letter dated and signed on a page from George Sand to Ernest Feydeau in which she recommends Emile Aucante, his godson, who would be the most suitable person and able to edit the novels he plans to print:
"Sir, I always hope to have the pleasure of seeing you soon, as you made me the good promise. In the meantime, since you also promised to make other novels, I come to recommend the agency from Mr Emile Aucante who is one of my best and safest friends, and to whom came a good and useful idea whose moral and serious side you will appreciate, at the same time as you may have an interest in taking advantage of the lights and the dedication he places in our service. Believe me in your sympathy and gratitude. George Sand. "
