Bound in half red morocco, smooth spine, date gilt at foot, single gilt fillet framing the patterned paper sides with African-inspired motifs, endpapers and pastedowns of bordeaux paper, original wrappers and spine preserved, protective rhodoid cover retained (with a small tear and paper offset from the lower cover onto the rhodoid), top edge gilt, binding signed by P. Goy & C. Vilaine.
Inscribed and signed by Léopold Sédar Senghor to Jean Bardet, co-founder with Paul Flamand of Éditions du Seuil.
