Edition First printing. A title-illuminated frontispiece hand on strong paper, and 10 steel engravings Tony Johannot also on strong paper. All pages of text with Gothic frames; it is thereby repeated two kinds.
Binding right calf blue icy night at the Cathedral signed lower back (illegible). Smooth back hit a large plate with various monastic ornaments (rosettes, windows in warhead ...) repulsed. Date and title gold. Great cold plate on the flat of a large window with various warheads monastic irons, all in relief. Several gilded frames. Indoor Friesland. glossy paper and moiré guards. gilt edges. Mors split in part, with various friction and accidents. Rubbed Caps. Rubbed corners. The back has consistently fonci and appears black. A few rare spots on a good fresh white paper. Curiously, the title page after the title-frontispiece dated 1857; binding, which seems strictly contemporary publishing, has postponed the date from 1836 in Gothic letters.
