New illustrated edition of 122 color plates erased and decorated by hand, on strong paper. The 122 boards contain more than 300 figures. The boards were designed by Janet Lange and Travies (the best illustrators to Buffon in the nineteenth), and engraved by Manceau, Fournier ...
Binding half black with shagreen many nets (cold and hot) and wheels. The dish of volume V is slightly rubbed. Pale freckles scattered and erratic (but never heavy or invasive), some pages include title, some not, same for the inside. We find some books without foxing, others have scattered here and there. The serpentes are present and the boards are in good condition, without browning, with occasional pale foxing in the margins.
