Strasbourg edition in Greek with the Latin opposite. Text in italics. Printer's mark on the title page. Edition brought together by Hubert Van Giffen, with his preface. A version of the Illiade appears with the same date from the same publisher.
Full pigskin binding with contemporary engraving. Spine in Jansenist compartments with the title in black ink and the date at the bottom. Top board with the figure of Justice in the centre in a medallion capped with 4 characters (Fides, Spes, Cha-Caritas-, Amor) Faith, Hope, Charity and Love, followed by a framing border of Renaissance rinceaux and portraits in medallions. The figure of Fortune on the second board, with the same decor. Metal clasps without fasteners. Light, scattered foxing.
Good bilingual edition in a rich German binding with Renaissance emblems.
