First Edition. A title vignette with various instruments, including marine. Full Calf time scales. Back tooled raised. 2 Rooms title in red morocco. Triple fillet border on covers. red edges. A snag tail. A slight gap on the top plate. A dull corner. First page with several stenciling. Good copy. Guillaume Vade is an imaginary character created by Voltaire, and the preface to Catherine Vade, his cousin, is also an invention of Voltaire. This edition contains the tales in verse Vadé but Jeannot and Colin and white and black, plus various documents, including the plan's tragedy Hamlet, Address to Welches ...
