Alexander POPE

New edition, illustrated with a frontispiece by Delamonce, a portrait engraved by Kornlein and 23 figures by Frankendaal. This edition contains two volumes of more than 1754. Full Sheepskin brown mottled. Back tooled raised. Part of title and volume number in red morocco. Caps head partly threadbare to volumes III, VI and VIII. Minor defects. 4 corners bumped. Good enough decorative series. Volumes 6-8 contain the correspondence of Pope, notably with Swift and Gay. Pope was both a classic poet (the largest of the first half of the eighteenth) a philosopher noted for his Essay on Man, as well as a novelist: Memory of Martin Scrivelius. Works contain particular critical essays. --- Please note that the translation in english is done automatically, we apologize if the formulas are inaccurate. Contact us for any information!
