This edition of the Vulgate is made on the edition of the so-called Bible of Clement VIII (Vatican, 1592) which became the authentic text of the Vulgate. Beautiful edition printed on two columns in lowercase characters, in a frame. A frontispiece with several biblical scenes and saint in a portico with a title in the central cartouche.
Binding full red morocco long grain Directoire contemporary. Smooth spine adorned with a repeated Masonic iron and a second iron with the tables of the law; central irons in lozenges and angular florets. Title piece in black morocco. A chain framed on the boards.
