Sumptuous edition printed on wove paper by Pierre-François Didot, decorated with a portrait of the Child Jesus engraved in intaglio by Klauber.
Binding slightly later (1800) in full fair calf. Back with five false nerves decorated with double gilded boxes and nets, and irons anchor, a red morocco title piece and green morocco editor. Large golden floral lace coaching contreplats. Lace in the Greek coaching contreplats. All edges gilt.
Two damaged corners, lower joint destroyed by worms.
Beautiful copy wide-margined, elegantly set in a stylish binding.
