Louis XIV, attracted by the riches of the kingdom of Siam there was an extraordinary hurry embassy which Francois Timoleon de Choisy was gone (with Father Guy Tachard who also gave his book on the subject), its role is to convert the king Christianity while the other part of the embassy was to conclude commercial treaties. The embassy returned with gifts, right for missionaries and diplomatic words. The book contains many details about the Embassy reception by the king and his court, on the manners of the court, the rich palaces and houses, but the book is also a sea story, the author taking his daily newspaper since leaving Brest until his return, even if sometimes it notes the time at sea. --- Please note that the translation in english is done automatically, we apologize if the formulas are inaccurate.
