First illustrated edition of 101 drawings of Benett and a map. BR catalog in fine for 1884.
Cartonnage editor said "To the two elephants" green fir (plate signed Souze, Lenègre binder tail). Very beautiful first plate, with very bright golds. Coins folded. Beautiful back, but with the headdresses sagging and folded. Second flat with traces of friction. Percaline glistening. Traces of friction at the corners, edges, caps and joints. First book from the title page detached, but not visible from the golden edge, because at the beginning of the book and still inserted. Beautiful copy, rare in this color.
