New edition, illustrated with 150 vignettes by Riou.
Publisher cardboard says "A banner" blue franc Bordeaux type 1. Second flat type Lenègre b, with cold octagonal macaroon. Sign signed Souze. Lenègre binder. On the back of the title Imp. Gauthier-Villars.
Beautiful first plate with tiny defects, a whitish point in the outer border, a scratch on a point on the lower edge; upper right corner has been folded. Back well, headdresses rubbed, the head slightly folded. Tiny slot with the lower bit in the lead on a few minimeters, with a slight hitch to the percaline. Back with dark soiling and a trace of wetness in the macaroon. 2 leaves slightly out. A Chinese stamp at the top of the subtitle, with a date below: Nov. 68. Sparse foxing.
