Edition illustrated, one of the 150 copies on strong wove paper, with the figures before the letter. Remarkable illustration with 4 figures out text engraved in intaglio Beisson (2), Copia (1) and Prud'hon himself, according to his own designs. Our copy is enriched with three engravings, including a reduction Phrosine Mélidore and engraved by Roger and pulled on chine collé.

Manifesto of the first romance and one of the best figures in the history of the French engraving, printmaking Phrosine Mélidore and is the only known comic board and engraved by Pierre Paul Prud'hon. The four songs and poems of various Bernard are preceded by a notice on the life of the author and an epistle to his friend Prud'hon Pierre Didot.
