Second edition statement; reprint of the original published in 1876. It is illustrated with 7 etchings (of china laminated on strong vellum) by Leopold Flammeng and 124 woodcuts in-text. Printing on fine white vellum.
Full binding vintage brown morocco signed H. Brenkens. spine ornate nerves, tail wheel. Golden title and date. boards decorated with the Du Seuil, with flagships in the spandrels. Rich inner frieze. All fresh, well white paper, with rare small foxing concentrated here and there, often at the point of serpentes that were removed.
