Second edition after the original published in 1685, rare. Title page in red and black. Sticker printer. Velin full time. Smooth back with title struck cold black. Nice copy. Novel written during the retreat of the author and strikingly modern when it is related to the prose of Madame de Lafayette and others. Structure (like we say "drawer") and your gear firmly on the eighteenth, or even the historical situation is not an excuse for storytelling. The title of gallant ladies is definitely an editorial choice, the eponymous work Brantome was so well known.
